Eden Bench - Visiting the old ranch

Today we went out to Eden Bench - the ranch Ken was raised on near Troy, Oregon.  It now belongs to the Game and Fish Department and is used as one of the areas elk feeding grounds.  We went through a couple of gates and shut our eyes at the "authorized personnel only" words - can't read would have been my defense.

Turkeys running through the orchard where asparagus grows wild this many years later.

This is where to "old" barn was.  The spring is in the bottom left corner.  They had "running" water as it came down the hill to the house.  :)
A view down the pasture.

In this country you work the flat spots.  A view over the river into Washington.

Hi. My name is Mark Stone. I found your blog posting Eden Bench - Visiting the old ranch from June 15, 2010. My Grandparents' names were Ray and Charlotte Brown. They owned 10 acres very near the Colpitts Ranch shown in your pictures. They purchased the property in 1968 from man named Red Sargent. The gates you desribe are the ones you drive through to get to the house. Would like to hear from you. mark.stone@ferguson.com or 503-519-4194. Thanks!
