Elk Hollar B&B and other Baker County Niceties

The sun was beautiful on the trees and yes there is an elk.
One of the places we love to visit is my cousin Wes' in Sumpter Oregon.  He and his wife Cindy are in the midst of turning this quaint place into a Bed and Breakfast.  It is darling.  There is a separate house (complete with outdoor toilet with a view); or the basement of their home.  Out the living room window is a field that has elk in it  a good deal of the time.  It is a snowmobile paradise and in the summer it is exquisite.  AND I think they are thinking about parking an RV in there.

We are SO in love with elk.  We have put miles on our pickup in the summer looking for and taking elk pictures. We've never met an elk we don't like.

Here is our little corner of the world.  We love it.  Talk about peace - these two have it.  And they won't ever take it for granted.
Yes they DO have a deer or two around there.
This would be the princess Hadley - Granddaughter #4.
If you look hard enough you'll see there is elk over there on the other side of the field.
And more else coming down out of the hills.

Miss Hadley came visiting today and needed a drink of water.
The Princess and her beautiful Gammy.
 Uptown Sumpter Oregon.
They have a mining exhibit chronicling mining in the valley.

We went to the Durkee Steak Feed and Air Show.  It was in Baker; not Durkee.  And was it ever good.
Grandaughter #2 stayed to help look after Hadley. Ken, Wes and Cindy

Look!  Hairdresser Lisa knows how to play the drums.

This gentlemen is paralyzed from the waist down.  What an awesome sight this was.  Look and this guy then feel bad.  He does absolutely everything he used to only differently.

Here is comes after they get him out of his cocoon.

 Lisa taking some dinners home.
How simple they created tables.  Nice idea.
