The Farnham's Gather

The alley is looking very grim and that's about how we feel.  Sharon collapsed Friday and ultimately lost her battles with life Sunday afternoon.  It has been a mind-boggling few days with much running water from the eyes and trying to come to terms with the shock.  Today Drais, Jr, Kitty, Karen and Courtney arrived with Michael and Mark arriving Saturday.  We went down loaded up the cart and came back with Clay Tuesday. He is parked up on top for the summer beside John Hedges.  This afternoon has  been all about memories.  Memories are how we get from this minute to the next minute with the intervals widening as time passes but never break.

We will have a memorial service in the clubhouse Saturday evening.

In 2009 when we left that first spring we had all declared to meet again - just one more season - before we all split to do more of our dreams.  We knew that life would happen at some point and we were having too much fun to not ride the wave.  We did this again in 2010 and again in 2011. Well, damn!  Life slapped us along the head - now we'll have our first get together in the fall doing the memory road one more time.  Damn I'm going to miss you Sharon!!

Moving to Las Cruces

The bags were packed and ready to go.  Sharon and Clay will be spending the summer in Las Cruces while the rest of us go north for a bit.  Hopefully we'll all be back together again by September 15th.  Yup!  We took the golf cart so Sharon can be a little independent.  :)  They will be at Sunny Acres and will have shade and trees.
On the road again (bum, bumm); just can't wait to get on the road again  (just a little sing along - tiny)

Sitting in the shade shooting the breeze!  We are retired!  STB is mandatory!

Look!  Sharon's in the drivers seat already!

A friend for Gypy!  Well a friend if Gypy ever gets done draggin her belly through the grass over.......and over........and  (you get the picture)
The laundry/shower patio.  Their rig is straight ahead on the right.
Well NOW it's there it wasn't when this pic was taken.

Puzzles in the shower/laundry building.
WHAT!?!?!?!  On the ceiling??

I wonder if this freezer can handle ice cream after all the green chile was in it??
We were all weepy as we hugged them goodbye today - yes even Archie hugged us!!  However we aren't gone yet.  We'll be down a couple more times.  Sharon looked very tired - even SHE was weepy.  Just wait, the summer will fly by.
The shower/laundry building even has a kitchen.

Visitors from afar and other spring tidbits

Clay, Courtney, Adam, Sharon (see the new do), Michael & Ashley!
Yuck!  Ear wax!
Two of Sharon and Clay's gkids came to visit.  They are Drais and Kitty's.  It was good to see the four gkids (now adults) interact with the gparents.  They stayed the first night at the Inn and the second night camping out in tents at the lake.  There was much talk of hockey, what're you doing this summer and the "do you remembers".  The two siblings hadn't seen one another for awhile.  Sharon was having trouble with her ears so Ken went and got candles - but they weren't like last year's.  Michael wanted to see it done so we did it early.  Michael's folks started Mimosa Sundays and he decided to carry the tradition to New Mexico.  We loved it!!

Who's under the blanket??? Sharon of course!

Debbie finished Jo's (her MIL) afghan.
Sue and Skip are here from Montana.  Here Sue is showing Sharon their two person bar-b-que.  It even has a drag line on it in case they have to hook it up to a D9!!
Notice the Italian Hem Stitch at the bottom?? Good job!
Fried pig snout. (Trompa!)
WARNING: The next few pictures are best viewed by grandparents in North Dakota for teaching purposes only.  (Yes the grandchildren raise pigs and cows.)

They not only us all the squeal it looks like they also use the Moo also.  Notice the "grass fed quality" at the mouth.  No that's not a horn - that's an tonque.

Pigs feet anyone??

Whoops! These tongues lost their heads. and $4.09 a POUND?????

And then there is the beef feet - skin on for $1.79 a pound.  Yum!

Sorry to the Chinn Grandchildren - we'll have to send a pigs head next fall.  :)
