Sleeping in Lostine......

So on the way to Enterprise the other day we made a little detour to see Granny/Grandy's old place and found a couple of young men walking so we stopped and talked with them. Quick as a wink the littlest one began giving his schpeel about this stupendous cleaner - very biodegradable, etc., etc., clean your face; clean your floor; clean your car; clea........wait a minute. So will it take oil out of gelcoat on a MH? Of course, of course! So we bought it with me alluding to the fact that if it didn't take the oil out I WOULD be hunting them. And in a county of 7,000 it wouldn't be hard to find them. So the next morning I got up and tried it out. GREAT STUFF!! I love it. (Advanage.) It took the oil from last year off as well. I am happy.
At the Flea Market we asked the repair shop there if they work on Cumins engines in RV's? Sure! Great what day? So we took TB (The Bus) up there yesterday. We asked if they didn't get it finished could we sleep there? Of course the seal he had wasn't the one he needed so we volunteered to go to Cumins in Pendleton to get it for early this morning. What a great drive. We went through LaGrande and came back through Tollgate. It's been 30 since we've been that way. This morning they were at it bright and early and we came back about noon after lunch at the LT. The LT is a local hangout for food, drink and visiting (gossip?? Nah. :) ) Came back to the park and I got the Advanage out and happily took all the oil off everywhere. Ahhhhh! Life is good!

Introducing Mr & Mrs Bob Lewis/Happy 4th of July America!

Presenting Mr & Mrs Bob Lewis!

Cake anyone?

It was a wonderful wedding, reunion and BBQ. We visited with folks we haven't seen in 40-45 years. Two of Ken's "partying" buddies came to visit with him. Rats! I didn't bring a tape recorder for blackmail.

Cliff Tarvin (from the Burnt River Valley where I grew up) was there. His dauther Sissy looks like her dad's side of the family. He is Ken's nephew's father-in-law. I haven't seen him in about ooooooo 40 years.

Story after story floated across the field. Truth of embellishment? Who cares!

Then there is the family photo op:

#1 The Colpitts Siblings

#2 The Lewis Crew

#3 The Shelton Clan

Then we went to the fireworks. We were about 10 crowfly miles away and I wanted to use the new toy. This would be the try from that distance. Still learning, still learning............

Gotta find another fireworks spot before I forget what I learned last night.

All in all it was a great day! Ahhhhh! Life is good!!!

Ken got up early (8:45) so we could meet C/C in Lostine. The guys went to LT (Lostine Tavern) and Cathy & I fleaed. Good market. Of course I followed the rules: you buy something new you have to take out something old. Well, I'm not tired of anything yet so didn't find anything to buy. However KEN does have a little room so I was looking for a 10 gal cream can so we can have a cream can dinner next winter. Well - I found one. We have been looking everywhere. The ones we have found are way too expensive and pretty rusty. Went to the LT had some tea and arranged to go to Enterprise for dinner with C/C. We went home via the cemetery and took some pictures of the Wallowa's behind Lostine. Dinner was wonderful. C/C have a place on the hill behind Safeway with another million dollor view of the Wallowas. We sat out on the porch listening to the quiet and just taking in the scenery. I hope to get a clearer picture of the Wallows from here before we leave. Ahhhhh! Life is GOOD!
