Sorry Dave - couldn't wait....It's OYSTER time

Holy Guacamole, did we ever have a T&L storm last night.  It struck the radio tower on top of the hill and this morning some folks were still without power.   The Albuquerque Balloon Festival MIGHT have seen the last ascension this time around.  They got lots of water and the wind is predicted for tomorrow and the day after and the day after............

We have been sharing the shipping for oysters from the Oregon coast for four years now.  Clay/Sharon know how to contact them and get them headed our direction.   We WERE going to wait for Dave/Deb/Newell/Linda before we ordered but Maurice and Caren got in on Saturday and we decided it was time to order.  There are usually 7 of us but this time there was only 6 with the The Alley folks (us) splitting the 7th bucket.  Sharon ordered them about noon on Monday and they arrived here just after noon today.  The ice the buckets are packed in was showing very little thawing and they looked good.  Wyn has never had fresh oysters that she prepared herself so Sharon has been telling her (and me) how she does it.  Well today we decided to have the feed outside and split the 7th bucket as a group.

It was a little breezy so we cuddled the table up against the Winnie and began the process.  Of course the guys were coaching lying in wait for the first batch.

Wyn brought her big skillet over and Wyn/Sharon began with the oysters.  I was on vegetable patrol to have just a few palate-cleansing Monticello tomatoes, celery and radishes.  Then we waited until the first batch came out.  Then we began to sample and just get down to the business of eating.  Then we all but foundered.  :)

A message to Dave/Debbie/Newell/Linda - sucks to be you.   Of course we MIGHT be able to order again.  What do you think guys?

Cleanup was easy but Clay is sad because he didn't have any for his 2 am snack.  Hmmm! What to do, what to do?

Yes, Ken - they are all gone - for today anyway.
