It is a fact that the I took faithfully anti-anotherhobby antibiotic all winter to not get the "oh good another hobby. Yes!! Bring It ON!" bug. I was SO smug. Oh isn't that nice I'd say as I contentedly did my SW. I had already decided to do the sweatshirt bling and felt like two (SW and SS) were enough extra things for my to get involved with. I know my nature and it is MAJOR OCD. Happily I passed up: teacup light, 12 kinds of card making (stamping, embroidery, scrapbook, etc.), Crewel ( hmmm. I think this word is wrong - anywho it's what Wyn does with microscopic pieces of paper she curls up into even more microscopic designs. Beautiful! Not for me.); broomstick crochet (already did that in my 20's); two kinds of beautiful glass etching; jewelry stringing and I'm sure I'm missing something.
Then John and Betty came to CC. They are from the Adirondacks in NY and are great folks I was taking to not get caught up in ANY more hobbies (OCDS!!!) were actually sugar pills. Really cool folks with Mister their dog, We started going places with her and she shopped for "stuff" she can't get much of in the East - ladder yarn, beads and pop tabs. I fell fairly fast into making a hatband out of pop tabs and was so proud to ignore crocheted necklaces and beading necklaces. Oh how the PROUD do FALL! Joy had been buggin me about making JUST ONE beaded bracelet and then Linda (she started taking the antibiotic too late in the winter. :( ) fell to the attractions. OK - just one...crocheted necklace...and ok Wyn teach me how to do that ONE bracelet...........and before I knew it the infection spread throughout my entire body and mind....................!! I am truly sick.
So when Deb went to Crazy Horse and saw the beads she knew I HAD to see them. Tonight we went to watch the lazer light show at CH and she quickly spread the word to find ME. Newell tracked me down at C.H. to "you gotta see these beads!!" First I found the beadwork..........Holy Hannah!! Look at the beautiful work. Thankfully (said prayerfully) I'm not into that kind of beading (yet one might say)
But then I saw the beads.......jar after jar after jar.......whoa look at the beads - every size, shape, color imaginable. These bottles were donated from a store in Rapid City. I was still here looking the beadwork when it was time to go view the mtn.
More beadwork.
Here is the mockup next to what it actually is planned to look like.
Then I found this picture with the actual superimposed over it. Not in our lifetime but some of our descendants will see the completion.
Here are the stats for it. I was impressed.
Then it was time to go outside for the laser light show and I quickly became UNimpressed. The lights are on it here and then they began to changes colors. Ho-hum! I've never been to a laser show and decided I didn't need to keep anything like this on my bucket list. This went on with Indian music background for FOREVER. I hunkered down in my chaitr (hmm I don't remember sitting THIS low in this chair) and decided to catnap. Then poof! The Real McCoy. It told a story with different designs flashing on the mountain and finally it ended with The Dream of what it WILL look like. I though what the heck and took a picture. It came out way cool. Then all the old folks went home to bed......or did we play cards and Newell/Linda's maybe. We love Golf!
