Yes, I AM alive and well............kind of

I'm here.....in Wyoming and it is July 4th.  My last official post was when we moved Clay and Sharon to Las Cruces.  Life went downhill for them almost immediately and she was in a better place Sunday afternoon.  Her passing so quickly kind of took the sails out from under me.  I just couldn't seem to press "publish" on a couple of posts so there they sit.  BUT life is too darn short so just DO IT!!

You MIGHT get to see more than his nose when I get my act totally together.
So am doing a bunch of  tidbits and will press "Publish" on the past whenever.

NM, CO, WY & MT are burning up.  We have had such extreme hot weather (just after the cold!!) there is no help with the humidity factor.  Colorado Springs will certainly look different when we return.  Click here to see the pics of the Waldo Canyon Fire   So PROUD the Forest Service elite chose to do away with Pine Beetle control about 34 years ago.  There is a mass of bug kill in all of these states.  We are now reaping the chaos from THAT decision!  Yes, a little soap box moment. sigh!  However it DID put us out of business and we ended up in Gillette.  Gillette treated us very well and how the State of Wyoming and Beech Street PAY us to NOT work!!  Alllllrriiiiigggghhhht!  (In laymen's terms it's called retirement benefits.)

The smoke is so low this morning I can't see Box Elder road just below us. I turned the AC on very early so the house won't smell like smoke.  Osage and Newcastle Wyoming are waiting to see if their towns will burn.  This heavy smoke makes me afraid.  Weston County (Osage) Wyoming Fires  Fireworks on many parts of Wyoming have been canceled.  :)  They'll do them after the rain comes. If the rain comes............it'll come right???

We are leaving tomorrow for Keyhole Reservoir for a week's camping with Whit's family.  They have a great tent.  Travis will bring the boat. Grandad has the fishing hooks and bobbers to take the big boys fishing from the dock.  Grandad won't be boating but the rest of us will.  Then we're off to Custer for a week's mini EB reunion.  Zellers, Martins, Madsen's, Propst's and us.  Should be a good time.

And now we're off to the parade.  Happy Independence Day 2012!!
