Bountiful Baskets - Deming Style

 All pictures by Linda Zeller

Saturday we did a ladies trip to Deming. Why?  Circular logic.  We needed to go to Deming to get the food baskets so we added a trip to the bead store - Black Hat.  Also we needed to go to the bead store so we decided to order Bountiful Baskets.

:)  The truck was due at 2 pm so we arrived at 2.  :)  The truck had been 1.5 hours early and the baskets were all filled and ready for pickup.  I'd asked Linda to take pictures of the process.
The VAC (Volunteer Area Coordinator) lives in Deming and is also the VSC (Volunteer Site Coordinator) for the drop at the St Claire Winery. - Pam Hilton is a Green River Wyoming gal.  Very nice and ready to help me get one started in TRC.    I'm finding out every area does some things differently - which is bad it's just different.  Pam numbers her baskets and tells you which numbers to pick up.

Here are the three baskets I ordered (Wyn, Cheryl & Linda/Me).

Romaine lettuce, celery, tomatoes, red onion, butternut squash and kale are this week's treasures.

Maurene picking up one of the baskets Kara ordered for Kara & Maurene/Claire.
What a beautiful day in the orchard.  AND what a good place for a drop.  Gave me good ideas about drop options.

We went together and got Honey Crisp Apples (.78/lb!!!) so I'd brought my wheel box to transport them to the pkp.  We also had the 12v cooler if we needed it.  - Works very well for lettuce, kale, etc.

Wyn has the other baskets ready to fill.

Maurene got granola and 5 loaves of bread.  Her bag is full of pineapple and celery.
What a great day it was - Wyn, Kara, Maurene and your truly.  Linda taking the pictures.
Wyn and I do the final checkout and visit with Pam and her backup (red shirt).
Back in EB we unload and distribute.  We got 5 baskets.  I shared with Linda; Maurene shared with Claire.

I have work to do to get ready to open - forge ahead.
