Veteran's Day 2009

Ken talking with the bagpipe player.  He was good.
Veteran's Day was during the week this year.  When it's on the weekends it seems they combine the ceremony with the annual Car Show.  It was a sunny day and we had lunch on the grounds of the Veteran's Home.
I LOVE this caption.

The Fire Station

After the conference I was exhausted but I headed to Casper to get rejuvenated with the gboys.  I made it up to Casper in time for a trip to the Fire Station.  The pre-school trip was for all the kids.  I acted as "chaperone" and picture taker.

Grams has the boy

Hmmm putting a tether on Ethan.

The shoes are Grams' - the blur is Ethan

Trying to decide if he really wants to do this.

Just hanging out waiting my turn.

Whoa!  This water goes a looonnnggg way.

My Final WyAA Conference

Jammin' the night before the showcases.  I made a note to remind them to "play nice with others" for next year.  There was one "instrument hog".  :(

Carolee from Evanston even brought her flute out.  :)
Nick - The WYO ED from Sheridan plays a mean bass.
Jaymi (my successor) cranks out Bobby McGee (MaGee; MacGee - whatever)

Bryan Ragsdale performs one of his originals.
Randy from WAC (Wyoming Arts Council) shares some new happenings throughout the state.
Colin Ross - from Nevada - showcases.  He has a wonderful program he puts on for the medical community.   He is so talented!!
Our good friend Layne Gneiting is a storyteller of stellar proportions.  He lives in Arizona; is a college professor and is about to become a father for the 7th time.  Sure will miss seeing him at the conventions.

This is quite a gal - she makes her guitars and leather clothes.  This was her first showcase; is a bit rough around the edges but could have potential is schooled.
Our nice polite audience for showcasing.  Thanks guys!

Rita Basom (WAC Manager) shares with an exhibitor.

Mike Shay (WAC) visits with Layne "on the floor".

Buffalo Bill and Jaymi touch base "on the floor" of the conference.
I will miss some of the "stuff" but the bottom line is I am tired and ready to do other things.  My total retirement is just around the corner.  February 1 - here I come.
