Rock Quarry and the Goodbyes Begin

Since Betty and John are leaving Sunday we decided to squeeze one more excursion in before the Cream Can Dinner at 3 on Saturday.  We went to the rock quarry north of Hatch.  I mainly went to chronicle the event but did pick up Some rocks for the boys.
Looking south over the Rio Grande Valley west of Hatch.
Wow more than 1 cow in a group. Very Rare!

It began here but ended up.........

.......here!  Load that truck up.  It'll fit in their teeny, tiny car they have.  :)

Looks like they're scattering to the four winds.

"Hey Bill? Found any leaverights?

This cactus is alive and well.

More rock formations.

Debbie and Luc also knows as FF.

Know how to tell if they are star gazers?   Their heads are DOWN!

John, Bill and Alvin (Bill's brother)

MOM! MOM! MOM!  I found a treasure.  Can I keep it or just..............................

Now is this not the spitting image of his Uncle Mac?

Cactus will grow anywhere - like in the middle of this rock.

Woohoo!  Here comes a bag for me to get into! I'm coming Mom!!

Quilting 2012

An overview of the 2012 Quilt Show.  I've decided I must be a Quilt Snob. I REALLY like hand quilting.  Although the machine quilting leaves a pretty pattern it just lacks that hand quilted touch.  A few of these quilts were hand quilted.
Stippled? stippeled? I know "A product of Stippling"

There's just something about flowers and the purple
 borders aren't bad either.

Awesome - Needs to be a wall hanging.

Dogs

Fences and Horses

Took me a loonngg time to see the pattern - menorah

Blue Moon, you've got me under your spelllllll.....

Can't really see ut here but this one was a optical illusions
pulling the center forward.

This one STILL hurts my eyes.  What a great job!

Gdaughter Jaci is making a Crown Royal Quilt

More horses

On a panel quilt.  Betty told me to get a panel and sew around it
like we're doing with the sweatshirts..........hmmmm

This one was really cute with flappies hanging out.

A bear flappy

I'll take a picture of you if you take one of me.

Waiting for the next drawing so we can go eat.

This one says it all!

Another panel - where to sew, where to sew....

Grannies Gone Wild SS Bling Excusion.  A good day!  Whooaaa! No fingers Debbie - see how's she clutching her hands to be good?  :)

WAIT! No food until we get through the Wood Carvers Exhibit.
Here is the train maker.

Emile's carving

I love Emile's Old Buzzard!

Sorry - Didn't get these carvers names.
Ride, Ride, Ride that Broom girlie!!

This pretty much says it all!
