First Day of First Grade for #5

We all went to KaCe's open house at the new school Buffalo Ridge.  He's a little nervous about a new school, but everyone seems to be nice.  Ethan would take his place in a heartbeat.

Mom is writing down when she wants to bring refreshments for class parties.
His teach helps him read about Dr. Seuss.
Say cheese!
The big day arrived.  Waiting for the bus.
Be good Buddy - I'll be back soon.

Finally the bus arrives.  Good luck Mom you will now have 16 year until we're all out of school.  :)
Grams, Grams!! It was a GREAT first day of school.

Can we go to the playground???

Fishing In The Big Horns

With Ken feeling somewhat better we planned a trip to the Big Horns for a little fishing, picnicking and an outing.  We went to Deer Park campground where we used to swim in the creek.  It really wasn't that warm up there - imagine that - cool in the mountains.
Planning the fishing trip down the creek.

While the plans go on the boys and I did a little wading,
Meanwhile Dad let go of Aedan's hand and he was gone.
Checking out the fishing tackle while Dad fixes the poles.

Let's eat before you go fishing.

I don't want to wait til they come back!!

We're going with Dad and Grandad - you stay here. See you later Aedan.

?  I don't think we've seen these kind of rocks before.  :)
They told me to sit on the log and wait for them to come back.  They should be coming any time now.
They should be right back...........I'll just play with Grams' shoes awhile.

They should be right back - let me drive for awhile.  They'll be right back.
They should be right - let's have some snacks.

What do I hear - it's them, it's them!

 Bubba!!! We made it back!

What??? Grandad needs a ride?  He can't make it any further?  Well, go get him Daddy.

Yes!! We caught fish and didn't quite drive Dad and Grandad nuts!!
When can we go again, Mom?

Family Pictures.....a BIG job.....a healthier Ken

The taking of family pictures is stressful - mostly for the photographer!  :)   Jessica is no exception; however she DID handle it with good humor.    Then when you add Grandad, Wiley and me in you have real trouble.  I quickly snapped these
realizing quickly Jessica would become fast friends with Photo Shop.

I'll compare when we get the real things.

A sculpture at the college behind the Pronghorn on the bridge.

Then we came home and found an apple napper in the back yard.

Two nights later we found THREE guys in the backyard.

This guy is going to be a big one.

Then I took a picture of Lori's beautiful plant.  I think I'm beginning to like yellow!

And then there's Ken.  We watched the Olympics over at W/T's the other afternoon.  Ethan was all over Ken. He so wanted to be close and Ken was doing good.  Notice the arms above the head?  A pose he usually doesn't do unless he's lying flat in bed.
He goes to the doc again Friday for more TPI's and an in-depth discussion about the medication.  Ken wants to have a plan B for the topiramate.  It's been 20 years since he's changed and traditionally he's had to change at the 20 years mark.  He'll ask the docs to come back in two weeks with Plan B so if (when) I call they'll already know what they'll do.  A good idea I think.  We don't want to have to make a flying trip back.

He has been very productive so far - greasing the bus; getting ready to change oil in the genset and the big engine and maybe a few other plans.  Not that he is in a hurry.  Hey!  We're retired.  He officially comes off the "disabled" roles with SS and becomes "retired" in September.  Another milestone of some kind.
