What a difference 18 little days can make. The last time I wrote we were in Rock Springs on tour to help raise awareness for the arts in Wyoming. Circumstance beyond our control has forced us to put it on hold. Thus the TB is in Casper at the daughter's and right now I have a little office setup downstairs at the in-laws. Ken is out and about getting ready to help the Elk's at the ACTRA roping this weekend and we'll head back to Casper sometime Monday. I am working on "stuff" for the block booking conference in October in Torrington. My motto has become this can wait for "another day" and working the priorities - which there are plenty of. :) Now that I have touched base here; it joins the other "A.D." stuff. I have made a note to update the blog weekly. I hope I don't lose what I have learned before I'm able to do much more here. We HAVE made a decision about this winter. We are going to stay at least two months at Lakeside RV in Elphant Butte, New Mexico. It is right off I-25; in the Rio Grande Valley (Ken's desire)and it will be easy to hop back to Casper in the pickup when needed with a stop off at Grandson Erick's. Or I can hop the bus if I need to leave Ken the Pkup. Since we won't get there until around the 5th of November it seemed pointless to uproot before at least the first of January. Elephant Butte is a small town of about 1800 and at least online they seem like a very welcoming group. Of course it doesn't hurt that they have a 40 mile lake nearby that has great fishing.
Oh yeah - V.I.B.E. update. Ken is doing very good. Actually remarkable considering the amount of stress the past days have brought. The topper was a cold snap that hit last weekend. However, his shoulder is pain free but his muscles, etc have tightened. He and DIL Lori are VIBE'ing here in Gillette. He feels much better this morning. It will be interesting to observe how he handles this weekend - he'll have lots of lifting and bending. BUT he can still do his "dog and pony" windmill with the right arm and get slapped on the shoulder and actually feel NO pain.
Well I have MUCH work to do. Onward and upward
