Heading for Oregon via Idaho - otherwise known as "Uncle Bennies"

Oh man!! It was SO cold in Rawlins and there was a statewide storm with high wind and snow that shut down the roads.  But WE were able to head out for Idaho - Dave and Deb weren't.  So we left and said we'd wait for them in Middleton that way we could visit with Ken's cousin Ben and be ready to go see Brenda and Hank when they got to ID.  They were stuck for another whole day; leaving on Thursday from Wheatland arriving in Caldwell Friday evening.
We made Kemmerer where Deb had already spoken with the RV owner that told us to find a spot and park which we did.  They have really perked this place up with pavement.  :)

We left about 9 the next morning and arrived in Eden Idaho early afternoon and parked.  Beautiful RV park that also told us to find a spot and park.  I was getting the idea the parks don't REALLY open until May 1.
Thursday was an easy day.  Ben's place looks the same.  With the car trailer it was a little dicier getting into, turned around and parked but we managed.  Ben, who is 85, still gardens and takes care of his watering.  The grandson does come and mow the yard and he's contracted out the fence painting this year.

Just another couple of Devenport's sitting on the patio.

The garden is 90% planted.

Time to redo the field corrigation -  Just so
It was SO good to see Brenda and Hank.  It's been a couple of years since we've seen them.

After lunch we sent the men on their way and we did our thing which included a couple of yard sales, a 2nd hand store, a visit to their RV park and a visit to Brenda's mother's.  A fun, fun day and Brenda really needed the company.

Late that afternoon Ken called and said Ben would have supper at his place.  Huh??  So off to Ben's we went.  Yessss.  Here is an example of Ben watering.  Open the spigot and out it runs til the whole area is flooded; then he moves somewhere else.

At Ben's we found hamburger thawed, potatoes ready to peel and "Nawwthen" (White) Beans heating.  He indicated his kitchan was ours.  I, being the good runner, ran from any decision making and said I'd peel the potatoes.  Debbie decided we'd have sloppy Joes and presto! we had a plan.  We sent Deb off to the outdoor shed (read preppers pantry) for any supplies we lacked.  So the meat went into the BIG pan and the potatoes went into the SMALL pan.  Within minutes they realized their mistake and a switch was created.  Here Brenda dumps the hamburger and then Debbie dumps the potatoes and the switch was accomplished without any injuries.

Deb also fell in love with Johnny Salt - she acted like she'd never seen it before.

After dinner we went to the porch to set and ruminate.

Good times, good visit!
