Gringo Appreciation Day!

16+ of us headed out to Palomas yesterday for the annual Pink Store party.  Sharon and Dennis went down and saved us 3 tables outside.  This year they had a large tent outside on the patio.  I think they were afraid of the cold as there was a heater in the tent.  Ken managed to get right by it and was happy all day.  As we went in the owner was handing out sombreros and blinking party sunglasses.  They had prepared for 500 and I'm sure there were that many as folks came and went.  There was a different setup for the food this year.  Each food station (other than the main one) was sponsored by an eye doctor; a dentist and a purse store.  As you went to get food you could also pick up a business card.  Food and drink was free.  We staked out our chairs and either went inside to "shop" or settle in to watch the people.  And there were some real characters there.
I'm thinking about changing the color scheme in the house.Yup - purple is there.
The bright colors are so cheerful.

 More inside
I'm sure these two were very tired last night.  they worked hard as did all the servers.  The town closes down and many of the businessmen come and help serve.

Cliffie, Darrel and one of the characters.  She was here last year.
Karen and Sue were having a GOOD time.
 So were Dianne and Lynn
This character is one of ours.  Dennis modeling Lynn's hat.
 Roger and ahem.........the character.
 Larry, Curlie and Mo
You can't take Dennis anywhere..
They invited dancers from Juarez to come entertain us.  They were great!

The awesome band and singers.
I was a little uncomfortable at first with this costume.  It was a little too close to seeing the Federales patrolling the street.  They soon changed into more colorful attire.

These four play a lot at The Pink Store

The beautiful costumes with yards and yards of bright material.

Sit down in front.
It was a wonderful relaxing day.  Ki and Wyn went with us and Ki drove.  I so enjoyed sitting in the back, visiting and doing "The Obsession".  We left after the entertainment and made it back to Arrey just in time for dinner on Steak Night.
